New Wealth Management Strategy Head Named At RBC

Royal Bank of Canada’s domestic wealth management operation has appointed Brenda Vince as head of wealth management strategy. She takes up the role in February 2009 and is currently president of RBC Asset Management.

Ms Vince will focus on initiatives which will have impact across businesses, product lines, channels and clients, the firm said in a statement.

Darrell Oswald and Patrick Keeley, co-heads of the combined discretionary wealth management business of RBC and Phillips, Hager & North, will report to Ms Vince.

She will be replaced by Doug Coulter, currently president and chief executive of RBC Direct Investing. He will be appointed president of RBC Asset Management. RBC Direct Investing is now reviewing candidates for Mr Coulter's current position.

RBC Wealth Management has high net worth clients in Canada, the United States, Latin America, Europe and Asia. RBC Wealth Management also provides asset management and trust products and services directly and through RBC and third-party distributors to all client segments, and has over C$500 billion  of assets under administration, more than C$240 billion of assets under management and more than 4,000 financial consultants, advisors, private bankers and trust officers.
